December 2022
ERES 2021

What’s special?

ERES 2021 was different. Unfortunately, we could not welcome you on-campus at TU Kaiserslautern. Nevertheless, we were having an exciting event! ERES 2021 offered virtual presentations for all qualified submissions and provided a very stimulating virtual conference experience. To this end, ERES had invested heavily in a sophisticated, easy-to-use conference management platform for the event. And, of course, we wanted to bring close to you TUK and the beautiful region of Kaiserslautern and the Palatinate. Thank you for attending ERES 2021!

This was special about ERES 2021:

+ More than 200 qualified submissions in 6 parallel tracks, 180 paper presentations in 50 sessions
+ All presentations could be held and followed ONLINE
+ Keynotes and Panels were recorded and remain accessible for registered participants until July 31, 2021!
+ 7 refereed sessions with discussants
+ 10 distinguished panel discussions with scholars and industry experts
+ Interactive virtual formats with live-feeling and communication hubs
+ Main events offered in virtual formats ONLINE
+ Evening reception with an entertaining digital demonstration of a formerly analogous business model! (
+ New Best-Paper Awards
+ ERES provided a limited number of PhD scholarships for attending the conference (Link)

All main events were offered in virtual formats ONLINE so you could join remotely – even when the conference is over.

We thank our sponsors for generous support of the 27th ERES Annual Conference 2021:

Opening and Welcome

Opening and Welcome by
Joseph Ooi (President of IRES),
Ingrid Nappi (President of ERES) and
Björn-Martin Kurzrock (Local Organizer, ERES 2021)

This will be followed directly by the first Keynote.

Evening Gathering and Networking

Thursday, 03 June | 19:00 – 21:30 CET
We would very much have liked to welcome you to the beautiful Fruchthalle of Kaiserslautern – not, however, in this particular year. So now, we have decided on a virtual venue that nevertheless allows for lively interaction among the participants! Be curious and look forward to it!

PhD Networking Event

Wednesday, 02 June | 18:00 – 21:00 CET

The PhD students are invited for the PhD Networking Event after the PhD Workshops already on Wednesday. This way you can get to know each other in a relaxed atmosphere and share your thoughts and experiences from the workshop. You will meet in a virtual venue that fosters interaction.

Barbeque and Food Truck Dinner

Friday, 04 June | 18:00 – 20:00 CET
Unfortunately , we could not quite arrange for anything similar to this online. This would have been our favorite part of the social programme!
However, you will get the opportunity at least to explore the TUK Campus virtually. And: There will be much room for meeting fellow researchers and other delegates throughout the conference – both in 1:1 meetings, in group meetings and with chats! You will see who is online at the conference and find profiles of the delegates to get in contact with directly.
